Who is eligible to use the Convenience Center?
All residents of Hopewell & Greenwich Townships who display a Convenience Center Pass are entitled to use the Shared Waste Facility located on Trench Road in Hopewell Township.
Convenience Center Passes may be obtained at the Hopewell Township Municipal Building, 590 Shiloh Pike (Rte. 49)
Passes will be given to township residents only. There is a limit of 2 passes per household. One-day passes are available, when needed, upon request from the Hopewell Township Offices, (856-455-1230 Ext.118).
Permitted and non-permitted uses
1. RECYCLING: Click here for Recycling Flyer.
2. LEAVES are composted and therefore must be removed from bags. Trash cannot be mixed in with leaves.
3. BRUSH AND LIMBS OF 3 FT. OR LESS are to be neatly stacked so they can be run through the chipper. The chipped material is available for your use as mulch. BRUSH DISPOSAL IS LIMITED TO ONE PICKUP LOAD PER DAY, unless otherwise pre-approved by the Hopewell Director of Public Works.
4. LARGE ITEMS must be placed in an open top large item container. Please pack them neatly so that space and money is not wasted.
5. METAL that can be recycled should be placed in the designated area.
7. Please keep your trash as dry as possible and packed in strong medium size bags such as the 30 gallon size.
8. Please use closed bags and containers when transporting trash to the convenience center. If you have an open bed truck or trailer, please use a tarp.
9. We will accept appliances and white goods. They must be unloaded where designated. Do not remove the refrigerant!
The following are not permitted for disposal at the Convenience Center:
- Construction debris (may be disposed of at the County Solid Waste Complex in Vineland for a weight fee)
- Asbestos materials (may be disposed of at the County Solid Waste Complex in Vineland for a weight fee)
- Tires
- Large 55 gallon barrels
- Batteries
- Shingles
- Chemicals, including pesticides
- Oil-based paints
- Solvents
These items may be disposed of twice each year, in the spring and in the fall, through the Cumberland County Improvement Authority Household Waste Days.
